Japan Travel Blog: My Stay at 'Sapporo Grand Hotel'

My last trip to Sapporo we spent 4 nights in the Sapporo Grand Hotel and I highly recommend this hotel to other travelers going into Sapporo. While searching for hotels to stay,  we booked quite late so Sapporo Grand Hotel was one of the few hotels near Sapporo Station that was still available.

The hotel is well located, an easy and comfortable 10 minutes (15 minutes if with luggage) walk from the main Sapporo train station (exit #8). The walk is underground along walkways with shops along the way.

Click here for more information how to access to the hotel by public transport.

We arrived early in the morning but the room was not ready until 3pm. One staff from the concierge spoke good english and help us to communicate with the reception for early check-in and we were able to check in earlier at 1.30pm. Communication was a bit difficult at the reception but everyone was helpful and friendly.

We were delighted when we walked in to the room.
The room was relatively large for Japan standards.

The beds were comfortable to sleep at night. The air conditional in the room can be tricky as it can get warmer or colder after adjusting the temperature.

Pyjamas are provided for guests.
Wifi is free in all rooms and it's fast.

The room overlooking the view outside, which is nothing spectacular since the view were mostly blocks of office building and roads. We can actually see workers working in the opposite office block.

Bathroom is spacious...and super clean.  The glass door on the left is where the bathtub and shower is, as shown in the next picture.

Note that the the toilet is separate from the bathroom above. Toiletries are ample, with toothbrush, shaver, hair brush, cotton wool and a big bottles of bath soap, shampoo and conditioner for the guest to use.

For breakfast, there're 3 restaurants to choose from. So far we only went to Northern Terrance and BigJug on the first floor. Dad is a typical guy who prefer western than a traditional Japanese breakfast.  For four nights we stayed here we have our breakfast at Northern Terrace 3 times.

Northern Terrace is mostly crowded with hotel guest. Food is plentiful and there's a choice of western and Japanese food to choose from.

Card is placed on the table when the table is occupied.

We had breakfast at the Big Jug restaurant one morning. This restaurant serves traditional Japanese breakfast, with grilled seafood and vegetables. I find that it's less crowded and quiet here compared to Northern Terrance.

Our stay at Sapporo Grand Hotel have been nothing but wonderful. The hotel is located in a strategic location and walking distance to many attraction places such as Sapporo Station, TV tower and Odori Park. It was raining 3 days out of 4 days we were here and the underground walk allowed us easy access to malls are train stations. There's a lot of options for dining once you go underground. Will defiantly stay in Sapporo Grand hotel if we ever visit Sapporo.
