Woke up early on day 2 for our breakfast in the hotel lobby.
Need to fill up our tummies if we need the energy to explore Sapporo.
Got a map from the concierge and explore the attraction nearby by foot.
From our hotel, we walked to the Clock Tower. The Clock Tower was built in 1878 and is regarded as both a historical and cultural symbol of Sapporo.
We walked over to Odori Park and was greeted with a beautiful backdrop of autumn colours. It was a pretty sight when seeing up close for the first time.
If you're wondering where is the park, you can easily locate it since it's in the heart of Sapporo, between the centre of Sapporo station and Susukino station.

The view of Sapporo TV tower from Odori Park.
We left Odori Park after a short while when the sky became cloudy.
Not long after leaving the park the rain started pouring.
We took shelter in one of the department store and found loads of cute stationery and other related sanrio items. We ended up buying an umbrella from this store when we realised that the rain will not stop anytime soon.
We lost our way looking for Daiso but thankfully someone directed us to the correct path after stopping to ask for direction.
Daiso may be available nationwide in Malaysia, but defiantly not a 5 storey building! Everything cost 100 yen (RM3.05 after converting - not including tax), except for selected items that cost more. It's actually cheaper here and you'll find tons of things that you can't find it back home.
After Daiso we were on a look out for lunch. It was then we stumbled on Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade (by chance actually). Tanukikoji is an approximately 1km-long arcade with 200 shops that runs east to west in downtown Sapporo.
So many shops and restaurants to explore here.
We went to a random Japanese restaurant (Aburi-Chaya) for lunch.
Walk down the steep stair case to the basement.
Removed your shoes and placed it in the cabinet next to the entrance before you enter. Interesting concept I must say.
We were amazed with the restaurant interior when the entrance door opens. Best of all, there's free wifi!
No English menu but pictures are available for the set meals.
Mum ordered the fish set. Looked simple but according to my mum it's pretty good and the meat is fresh.
Dad ordered the sushi set which costs only RM30 for this set. Defiantly a bargain cause the portion for these would have cost much more back home.
I ordered the set that comes with hairy crab, beef and fresh sushi. Oh my...this set is totally worth it. Everything tastes so good! Super fresh and sweet!
We had so much and our bill came to 4270 yen (RM 130). Green Tea, water and napkins were free of charge. Pretty good deal right?
We were impressed with the food and the service here that we planned to come back again. Even the walkway to their toilets look impressive too!
Continued exploring the shops in Tanukikoji and found a pet store with all the cute puppies at display. Click here for more pictures from this pet store.
Loads of interesting thing and cute shops to explore.
My kind of place when there are tons of cute things to see.
We discovered big crowds in this souvenirs shop and decided to check it out. We observed that tourist were brought here from their travel agent. Look at the crowds! If my memory serves me correctly, we were given a 5% discount off for our purchase here.
Recommended to get the White Lovers (Shiroi Koibito) biscuits when you're here. Shiroi Koibito cookies are famous in Japan.
Bought 2 slices of cake from Doutor before heading back to the hotel.
A kind gentlemen directed us to walk back to our hotels using the underground walkway. We realised that the underground is accessible to most buildings. Talk about convenience!
I walked over to Sapporo station while my parent rest in the hotel room.
Shops are accessible everywhere I go that I almost lost track of the time.
My legs were aching by the time I walked back to the hotel.
We went to a restaurant nearby for dinner.
The restaurant is known for their barbecue since all the tables were having that. Not keen on barbecue, we ordered 2 set meals from the menu to share...and 1 additional fried rice.
The starters were pretty good.....but when it came to the main dish, we find the meat a bit too soft, not the usual beef we have back home when it's tough and chewy. The first few bites was pretty good but once finished we find the taste a bit too rich (and oily?) for us.
Initially we thought it was wagyu beef because the meat was so tender and soft...it practically melts in your mouth. It was only when we asked the staff we were told it's Hokaiddo beef. I have no expertise in beef so I can't really tell the difference. After all, to me beef is meat...thats it!
To end the day, we have sweet melon back in the hotel room.
Can't resists an ice-cream cone from 7-Eleven.
And not forgetting the cakes we bought earlier.
With that, that wraps up day 2 in Sapporo.
