Birthday Treat at Pasta Zanmai @ Tropicana City Mall, Petaling Jaya

An overdue post. I really need to find the time to update all my post.
Pictures were taken back in April.
It was suppose to be a small gathering with the gals.
Had our gathering at Pasta Zanmai in Tropicana City Mall.

The place is not packed till lunch time.
Arrived a little earlier than expected.

When dinning at Pasta Zanmai, I mostly order their set meal...which is quite reasonable. I ordered the 'Mini Seafood Tomato Sauce Pasta & Grilled Chicken Omelette Garlic Rice' (RM26). My favourite is the Omelette Garlic Rice which is cooked in perfection. The seafood tomato pasta sauce was okay....find the sauce taste more like tomato ketchup rather than pasta sauce.

Jenny ordered 'Mini Chicken Cream Pasta & Soft Shell Crab Tortilla Roll' (RM26). She seemed to enjoyed her set as the portion is just right for her (she's a small eater).

'Hammie' ordered 'Spicy Seafood & Asparagus Tomato Cream Sauce Fettuccine'.  Took a small bite to try it out. A bit spicy but it was tasty. This was a part of the special month promotion back in April so am not sure if they have this on their menu.

Highlight of the day...the birthday cake from the girls. The gals decided to celebrate early with me since I'll be away on my birthday. It was indeed a sweet gesture. And what more, the cake was huge...and beautiful!!!

The presentation of the cake was so so so beautiful that I took countless of pictures of these....right up to the moment when I cut the cake.

Didn't expect the sweet gesture of you gals. If I have known, I would have dress up 'decently' on that day. Yup...was wearing a simple t-shirt. LOL. I look like an 'Ahjumma'! Once again, Big thanks to Jenny, 'Hammie' & Jamuna. I'm a happy girl :)

To end this post, I got to give credit to the staff at Pasta Zanmai @ Tropicana City Mall. They were quite attentive to our needs and even take the initiative to bring over the plates & forks for the cake cutting. I've been coming here to dine a few times and each visits here are always pleasant. Will defiantly come back for another visit. ^^

Big Breakfast @ Kaffa Espresso Bar, Damansara Uptown

After the recent J&D Espresso, here I am at Kaffa Espresso Bar, recommended by a buddy of mine.

From the entrance, you'll find the cafe is divided into 2 dining areas.
It was a hot day so dinning indoor was a wise choice for us.

My first impression of the cafe was cosy. I love how the interior of the cafe was decorated with vintage decors...my kinder place to hang out. Love the vintage feel of it. It makes the place looks cosy and comfortable. To place your order, you have to head over to their self-service counter to order.

For drinks, we ordered Americano (RM6.00) Salted Caramel Macchiato (RM12.50). I opted for the caramel macchiato since I prefer the sweetness flavour than bitter.

Buddy have Egg Benedict (RM14.90)....

...and Big Bites All-Day Long Breakfast Platter (RM19.90) for myself.

Find Egg Benedict a bit smaller than expected...as compared to the huge breakfast platter.

Their big breakfast served with mushroom, scrambled egg, sausage, grilled tomato, hash brown, beef bacon, & bun. Everything tasted great, although I would prefer a sunny side up for my eggs (they only have scrambled eggs).

For desserts, I decided to order the 'not so cheesy cheesecake' (RM11) from the cake counter . Couldn't help myself cause it was so tempting. The cake turned out to be really good! The cheese layer doesn't taste so cheesy and the texture is smooth. It was yummy indeed.

Overall, the food and their service were pretty good. The only down side we noted is that there isn't much privacy & seats are quite limited. The tables are quite close to each other and you can practically hear the conversation from the next table.

My Visits To The Popular Book Fair 2014

I told myself last year that I will not attend the annual popular book fair this year...but since I've promised to accompany my buddy....so here I am....again. Yes...I was quite reluctant to go because for the last 2 years I went....the crowds were quite overwhelming for me.  My buddy told me that the crowds will be lesser this year since most of them would have 'balik kampung' due to the long public holiday (Hari Raya). Well...guess what...my buddy was soooooooo wrong. (=.=)""

Oh well... at least my buddy is happy when I decided to go since buddy hated going alone.
Here we are with our wrist tag. Paid RM2.50 for the entrance fee.

I didn't really take a lot of photos other than this 3 pictures here. Moreover, you can't really take much anyway since most pictures will mostly ended up with crowds of people...and of course rows of books. Yup...didn't want to bored anyone with the boring pictures here.

I guess the only comfort is after going through all this hassle....seeing my buddy in such a joyful mood...especially after meeting her favourite author...it was all worth it. :)

Oh well...happy holidays everybody!

The Sound of Music at Mastercard Theatres @ Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

Last weekend I was in Singapore to watch a musical show @ The Sound of Music.

I grew up watching the movie so I was pretty excited that I got a free ticket to watch the show. ^^

For those who have yet to watch the show, The Sound of Music tells the true story of Maria Rainer, the fun-loving governess who changed the lives of the widowed Captain Von Trapp and his seven children by reintroducing them to music. She came to the family to tutor the children who were all home schooled and educated them through music and touched their hearts with her sincerity.

I guess I'm not the only one who looks forward watching the show.
Looking at the audience in the theatre, the place was practically full house.

My print out ticket and magazine in hand. :)

The show was indeed spectacular and amazing to watch. Watching my childhood movie played out in theatre stage brings back fond memories.  The Sound of Music is a musical not to be missed especially for those who watched it when they were young.
