Dining with my family is always the same..."where should we go for dinner?" It's always the same routine when we have to decide the venue. Tonight was not exception but thankfully we came to conclusion to dine in this restaurant.
We arrived around 7.30pm and the place was pretty much packed...especially downstairs. We walked up to the first floor and managed to get a good table at the corner. :p By 8pm the whole place was packed! Full House! Well, if the place is full, I can only say that the food here must be really good!
Anyway, once the place is in full swing, it will be difficult to get any of the staff's attention or to have your order taken. My mum...being a smart woman she is, she wrote down the order on a piece of paper and walk straight to find one of the staff and give them our order. If you wait for them to come over it will be a looooooong time....no kidding!
We waited for a while before the first dish was served.....that is venison cooked with ginger & spring onions. The meat was tender and juicy, defiantly recommended to try this!
Next came 'Kampung Chicken'.
I was surprise how good this is...and the meat is really tender. Another great dish!
Braised Brinjal (egg plant) with minced meat in clay pot.
Pretty decent portion...nothing to shout about but it's great with rice!
Braised Spare Ribs Home speciality. Meat is super smooth and tender. Best of all, the meat was served in an ample amount....as well as the sauce too.
'Kai Lang' cooked with garlic. Simple and healthy dish.
Steamed red snapper...cooked in soy sauce and top with a generous amount of parsley and spring onions. Quite a generous portions for a family of 9. Although fish is good for health, I didn't take much of this cause I was way too full after eating most of the dishes above.
My overall verdict....best meal ever! Surprisingly the food here are really good and the dishes we ordered were cooked to perfection. Our meal came to about RM280 for 9 of us (inclusive of 2 kids). The only downfall is that the place can get pretty noisy and it will be difficult to get the staff attention when they're busy. We practically have to raise our voice so that the other person can hear us or we have to walked over to get the staff attention. However, putting aside of these, Gold Dragon City Seafood Restaurant is one place we will defiantly coming back again.
