Anyway, on the day itself mum dropped me at KL Central. I booked a single trip to KLIA2 online with 10% off on my ticket (usual price RM35 - promo code available when you booked ticket from AirAsia) . Another cheaper alternative is to take the bus but I didn't want to be late so I opted to take the train instead.
The train took 35 minutes to arrive at KLIA2. Impressive I must say. It was only a short ride from KLIA stop. Stepping out from the station, I was amazed at the new KLIA2. The new airport is indeed bigger and spacious. Way much better than LCCT. I didn't have any problem finding my way around here. Just follow the sign to the departure hall.
Once we have checked-in the luggage, it was time to enter the 'International Departures' hall. After going through the immigration point, it was a long walk to the other side of the building.
On the other side of the building, there is a hotel, cafe, McDonalds and more shop lots.
For those who is interest to stay in Sama-Sama Hotel when you're on a layover between flights, you can check out the details below. The Sama-Sama Express Lounge offers a range of food and refreshments, as well as shower facilities and reading materials.
First picture we took together in the airport. Both of us were pretty sleepy since we didn't sleep much the night before. I'm having my first 'pao' for breakfast...which I 'tabao' from home.
My buddy and I ended up at Movie Lounge to relax since it was still early. Very comfy lounge...but a bit small to accommodate a lot of people here. The Movie Lounge is located near the Gate P.
Fortunately for us, our gate was located at P1. And in no time, it was boarding time! We have booked our meal online and the meal was served to us shortly after the plane took off from the airport.
The flight to Kalibo Airport took approximately 4 hours.
We have to fill up a Health Declaration Checklist before entering the airport. The airport is really small. You can practically see everything - the immigration point, the baggage claim and exit.
Once we have exited from the airport, the logistical team from My Boracay Guide was waiting for us and escort us to the bus for transfer to Caticlan Jetty Port. The journey takes approximately 2 hours, with 10 minutes stop at rest area (long journey indeed).
Once we arrived at the Caticlan Jetty Port, we were required to fill up a visitor's log sheet. The Terminal Fee, Environmental & Admission fee and boat fees were included in our booking with My Boracay.
Boat Ride to the island. The boat usually leaves once the seat is fill up.
The boat ride takes approximately 15 minutes to the island.
After the boat ride, we have to take a shuttle to our hotel. There was another couple with us on the ride and the driver have to send them to the hotel before us. My poor buddy was in a terrible condition due to motion sickness. She was practically in a state where she can vomit anytime but she manage to held it in.
It was indeed a long and tiring journey. By the time we arrived at the hotel, it was already past 6pm and the sky was getting dark (Yup...the sun sets really early here). We were relief once we walked into our room.
After freshen up, we took the shuttle (complimentary) from our hotel to D'Mall.
Here you'll find various stalls and eateries.
We ended up choosing Andok's for dinner, our very first meal in Boracay. The place was pretty packed since most of the tables and chairs are pretty crammed but it's still tolerable. Our dinner only costs Php229 (RM17.4) for 3 dishes.
My buddy didn't feel too well and was still feeling queasy from the journey. In the end, we went for a quick shop at the budget mart for some snacks and water before heading back to our hotel to rest. This pretty much sum up the first day of our Boracay trip.
