Hotel Review: UNIZO INN Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Dori

There're many options while looking for accommodation in Kanazawa. This round I was traveling with a friend so budget is something I have to consider, other than convenience and comfort. Eventually, I booked a room at UNIZO INN Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Dori.

When we arrived at Kanazawa Station, we went and bought a one day pass (500 yen) at the counter (pic below).  It's easier and faster getting to the hotel by bus.

You can take the Kenrokuen Shuttle or the Loop Bus (Left Loop) and get off at the next stop at Omicho Market. It's only 4 minute walk to the hotel from Omicho Market.

We were famished when we arrived at the hotel and we left our luggage and walked back to Omicho Market to have our lunch (we can only check-in after 2pm). Our first meal in Kanazawa is the best!!! No kidding, look at the picture below to see what we have for lunch πŸ˜‹ πŸ”½

If you're wondering where we have our lunch, this restaurant is located on the 2nd floor. You can check out their website here

If you prefer exploring, you can start exploring with your one day pass. Just hop on the bus from Omicho Market where you got off.

After lunch, we stroll around the market before walking back to the hotel after 2pm.  The staff at the reception gave us the key card and we proceed to the lift. Turn out we need the key card to have access to our floor.

We stayed in a twin room and paid around RM900 for 3 nights.

The room here is much roomier compared to the one we stayed at Red Planet Tokyo Asakusa.

The water bottle was provided during our stay. We were staying for 3 nights and we were provided with 6 bottles.

We didn't need to buy any water from the convenience store 😁

The bathroom is big and it's sparkling clean.

All the amenities you need in the bathroom.

The only thing I dislike is the step up and down of the bathroom. I have to remind myself to watch my step when stepping out of the bathroom.

There's a laundry room on the ground floor if you need to wash your clothes.

We didn't utilize it during our stay but it's good to know that there's one.

If you need drinks other than mineral water you can get them from the vending machine.

There's a 7-Eleven nearby so we weren't worried about getting hungry in the middle of the night.  We usually get our breakfast and snacks from here whenever we head back to the hotel.

Walking to Kanazawa Station on foot is approximately 20 minutes, and you'll find some interesting stores along the way.

Overall the location of the hotel is pretty good, and the staff here is friendly. You can take the shuttle bus with your day pass to a lot of tourist sightseeing places. I would recommend walking along the back street of the hotel if you're here, you will find a number of small and interesting shops and restaurants.

I'll end the post with a walkthrough video of the hotel entrance and the room we stayed in.
