Food Video Diary - Eating In Japan 2016

I must admit that I've been slacking on updating my blog post. I'm not even done writing my post on my Japan trip in 2015 and here I am posting up food post from my Japan trip last month!

I know that I need to update my blog post ASAP but as soon as I open my photo album I'm overwhelmed by the amount of photos I took (thousands of them) and I don't even know where to start!

I decided that I'll write a short post here and show you video clips I took last month in Tokyo....which is actually related to food only. All videos/pictures were shot around Tokyo, Yokohama and Hakone. Hope you'll enjoy the video while I work out updating my Tokyo post.

Four Seasons Xiang Yue Restaurant @ Jaya One, Petaling Jaya

My family wanted to celebrate my belated birthday at a new restaurant (finally....a new place to dine) since my return from my trip. I was away for 2 weeks on my birthday so they made it up to hold my belated as well my niece as double birthday celebration. My cousin suggested to have it at Four Seasons Xiang Yue Restaurant

At once glance the restaurant isn't big but it's provide a simple with no-frills and comfortable seating to dine. By the time my parent and I arrived the dishes had already been ordered so I'm pretty clueless what my cousin order.

While waiting for the food to be serve, we started snacking on tit-bits that were on the table. I personally like fried yam cause its super tasty.

A Trip To Snoopy Museum Tokyo [May 2016]

On my recent trip to Tokyo, my friend and I took a trip down to Snoopy Museum Tokyo. My friend is a big fan of Snoopy...and I have to admit I've started to like Snoopy too....no thanks to my friend who influence me into liking the character (lol, hope she's not reading this blog).

Before our trip to Japan, I've make a reservation for our tickets via email. The museum opened to the public not long ago and I was checking for details how to purchase the tickets via their official website. For visitors outside of Japan it can booked via email. However when I checked back their website (while writing this blog) they have since updated a post regarding purchase of tickets outside of Japan. Anyway, I received a confirmation letter from them but at a later time slot since we were there on a golden week (long holiday in Japan).

On the day our visits to the museum, I expected (and assumed) that the crowds will be lesser since we were going in at a later time slot. Unfortunately, it wasn't. There was a long line of visitors....and the photos I took below showed that we were lining outside....with long lines of people queuing inside (yikes!).

And yes, the tickets for the day were sold out.

(I assume this happen if its public holiday, school holiday or weekends).

Some snap shots of snoopy's figurine and books on display while queuing.

Solo Travel In Tokyo Day 5 - Ohi Racetrack Flea Market, Nakano Broadway, Koenji & Mode Off

Day 5 was a Saturday and usually weekends most places are crowded. However, my next destination is different from most tourist visit. I decided to check out their local flea market. I love to visit flea markets wherever I go. Before leaving I have light breakfast in the room...coffee and mini oreo biscuits to start my day.

When I left the room it was early and there were fewer crowds and cars on the road when I make my way to the train station.

I estimated that I would arrive at my destination before 9.30am.

However, I ended up boarding the wrong train. I should have taken the train which stopped at every station. Instead, I ended up boarding the train which not only doesn't stop at my destination....I ended up taking a non-stop train to Haneda Airport instead 😓

Oh well....I just enjoy the scenery instead 😅

Solo Travel In Tokyo Day 4 - Meiji Shrine, Kiddyland, Takeshita Street & Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building

Early morning to start my day and head off to explore Tokyo on day 4. It was still early so took my time and explore Sensoji Temple.

The best time to come here is early in the morning when most of the shops are still close and the crowds are lesser. And you get to take your own selfie or pictures in front of the entrance minus the crowds.

Took a peek at the huge lantern at the bottom....and you'll find a beautiful (perhaps handcraft) woodcraft of a dragon. I don't think I'll be able to take my time to admire it if there's a huge crowd.

From Asakusa station, I took a train from Ginza line and head off to my next destination...Meiji Shrine (transfer from Omotesando to Meijijungumae station).

Pho Vietz (Vietnamese Food) @ Atria Shopping Halery, Damansara Jaya

Whenever I passed by Pho Vietz on several occasion, it draws my attention cause the restaurant is usually crowded. So one fine day a good friend of mine decided to treat me (without my knowledge) and have our Vietnamese Food here.

Its been a while since I last have Vietnamese food so it was kinda nice to have something different for a change than our usual big breakfast for brunch.

Browsing through their menu, there're so many choices to choose from and it was a tough decision deciding what to order since I love rice but at the same time I wanted noodles too.

In the end I have Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup. The bowl of noodles packed with generous amount of beef. Pretty happy with my choice and super satisfied with this bowl of noodle soup.

We have fried spring rolls to share. Love the crispiness of the roll. Although comes with dipping sauce but found it kinda tasteless though (too watery perhaps).

Stir Fried Beef Celery with Rice. Quite a generous portion for its price. Tried the beef and it was pretty tasty.

Our overall verdicts?

Thumbs up for their food and service. Defiantly worth going back whenever I have cravings for some Vietnamese food. Yum!

My Experience Staying Overnight In Haneda Airport International Terminal

My last trip to Tokyo I stayed a night in First Cabin at Haneda AirportThis round I travelled with a friend and we decided to try another alternative to save cost on lodging.

Our flight arrived at Haneda Airport International Terminal around 10.30pm (no flight delay). We could easily catch the train to the city or stay a night in a hotel but wanting to save cost we decided to stay a night in the airport.

After collected our luggage, we head over to the Tourist Information Center and bought our Tokyo subway ticket. You can't miss it when coming out from the immigration check point. The Tourist Information Center closed at 1am (correct me if I'm wrong or there's a change of time).

You save a lot using the discounted Tokyo Subway tickets. Remember to check which line can be use since it does not cover all the subway lines.
