Taking First Coach From Kuala Lumpur To Singapore

Whenever I take a trip down to Singapore my first choice it will be by bus. Reason....its the cheapest alternative than flying of course. So when I need to take a trip down to the 'lion city', I take First Coach. I have used their service for several years and I must say that by far they are the best (I've tried other buses but First Coach is still the best in my opinion).

A trip down to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur cost RM55 and if returned its RM140. However with effective from 1st May 2017 there'll be a price increase for the fare.

I often take the early bus down but most time I take the 9.30am slot (7.30am is way to early for me). Depending where you're boarding the bus from, I usually board it in Bangsar since it's the nearest to my place.

It's a no frill coach so there's no wifi and no hostess to serve you meals/drinks on board. They do provide a bottle of water and a pack of biscuit though.

Bring your own head phone/ear phone on board the bus if you want to watch movie on board. On the side of your seat you can charge your phone or laptop while on board. Most time I bring my own portable charger cause I've experienced whereby there's no plug or the plug is spoilt (but lately I've no issue with this problem so far).

They only stop once for a short break at the rest area (not including immigration point in JB or Singapore). This is the only time you get down to visit the loo or grab some snacks or drinks halfway through your trip. They usually stop for 20 minutes.

Remember to fill in your disembarkation/embarkation card before arriving at Singapore checkpoint (you can get it from the driver).

A picture where passenger disembark or board the bus at Novena Square. Its so convenient to take an MRT to your next destination in Singapore.

The journey usually take between 5 to 6 hours but depending the crowds at the immigration check point. If its on a weekend or holiday season, do expect longer hours (it can be up to 8 hours or more). So my advice, take an early bus down to avoid the crowds and traffic congestion on the road (when it rains or after work). And if you can't stand the hours sitting then the best alternative is flying.
