Sakae Sushi @ One Utama Shopping Centre

It's lunch time and it's one of those time when you look at your friend and ask...what do you want to eat? Most of the places I suggested to my friend responded with a 'Nope', 'No Way' or 'I don't want'. Eventually I let her decide. Initially she wanted to eat congee...but knowing that I'm not a fan of it, she suggested Sakae Sushi

The place was empty when we arrived and we get to choose a seat of our choice (we were early).

Ordering food from their menu is super easy. You just need to choose the food via the touch screen of the iPad, and the order will go straight to the kitchen. Easy right?

Help yourself with hot water....you can refill as much as you want. No more hassle of trying to get the waiter attention to refill. Love this concept...wished there is more of this concept in other restaurant.

Help yourself with the sushi on the conveyer belt, the colour of the plate indicate the price of the sushi. Colour plate range from RM1.99 onwards.

My buddy ordered Nabeyaki Udon - hotpot wheat with tempura prawn, chicken teriyaki, egg & mushroom (RM15.90). Tried the soup and it taste pretty good.

I on the other hand ordered a set of 'Samurai' which consists of salt-grilled mackerel fish and soft shell crab (RM27.90). Love this set cause my favourite is the soft shell crab. It's indeed yummy...although some may find it a bit too dry.

The place was packed when we left to make payment at the counter. I guess it's most probably due to the school holiday (we came on a weekday).

Look out for the 'Dine, SMS & Win' which they are having now. If you spend RM80 and above, you will receive a contest entry code printed on your receipt to participate.

Just follow the step and you may win a free ticket to Nagoya and other prizes too. Since our bill came up to more than RM80 & above, we were entitled to submit an entry. Promotion ends on 15 July 2014. Finger cross! ^^

Japanese Food - Pasta Zanmai @ 1 Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

I'm finally back after 2 weeks holiday with my family. Since I'm back I have been craving for Japanese food! Great timing cause Pasta Zanmai finally opened at 1 Mont Kiara in early May. They were originally located at Sri-Hartamas Shopping Centre before they move over to 1 Mont Kiara.

The restaurant is located on the ground floor. You can easily locate this place once you enter the mall. Note that Lunch & Dinner time is usually packed so it's advice to come early or after the peak hours. I came around 11.45am and managed to get a seat before the crowds.^^
Monthly Special promotion on their menu.

It's not my first visits to Pasta Zanmai since I've try out other outlets at One Utama and Tropicana Mall.  As always, I order the same set whenever I come here, that is the Mini Seafood Tomato Sauce Pasta & Grilled Chicken Omelette Garlic Rice (RM26).

Price range is reasonable because you get pasta and rice for 1 price. The garlic rice taste really good when combined with omelette. However, I didn't really fancy the grilled chicken, can't really explain it but find the texture of the meat like rubber (maybe it's just me). Seafood Pasta is average but still good.

Mum ordered Mini Oyster Kumuchi Soup Pasta & Fried Chicken on Garlic Rice (RM26). Mum loves the garlic rice too that comes in this set. Fried chicken is crispy and taste great with mayonnaise. Tried the soup pasta and I find myself having a few more spoon of the soup because it was really tasty. Rather than normal Japanese noodle, they replaced it with pasta. Comes with big juicy oyster but mum happily ate it all up.

Since we came around lunch time, the staff can get a bit too busy and it may take a while for your food to be served (quite normal). However, if you ever come to this outlet, I would advice not to sit directly under the light (in front of the entrance or next to the kitchen), it can get uncomfortably hot after a while.

Marutama Ramen @ Fahrenheit 88, Kuala Lumpur

I've never been to Fahrenheit...yes...a KL gal like me who has yet to step her foot here. What more can I say, I'm don't go out as often as I thought...especially to KL...mostly because I hate the jam in the city (I know I'm not the only one).

Anyway, my visits here was due to certain errands with my parent. My parent suggested to have lunch at Marutama Ra-Men.

The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived... since it was way past our lunch time at 3pm.

The place is small but decent, clean and cosy.

Checking out their menu. Most of their dishes are Ramen (not surprising). Have a hard time deciding what to order cause every dish looks pretty much the same.

Eventually, we ordered 3 bowls of Char Siu Tamago Ra-Men (RM27) - Chicken Soup Ramen with 4 slices of roast pork, seaweed, spring onion and a seasoned egg. A choice of spicy and non-spicy. We opted for non spicy.

The verdict? The noodles are quite thin, similar to our Malaysian Maggie Mee but with more springy texture. The broth is thick and savoury. The Char Siu were fatty and tender...which I like. ^^

Our noodles came with a seasoned egg each. The york was running when break into half. I tried to boiled eggs such as this but failed all the time!

Overall, the experience and dining here was good. I enjoyed the Ramen but the branch in Fahrenheit is a bit too far. However, there are 2 other branches located in Subang Jaya and Avenue K which I can look forward going with my friends. ^^

Dubu Dubu Seoul Food Restaurant @ One Utama Shopping Centre

One day while meeting up with my buddy, I suggested to try out Korean food at Dubu Dubu Seoul Food.

The reason why I suggested to come here for lunch was because I got a free meal voucher from Watsons. And I thought it was a good idea to try out new place with my buddy. Thankfully my buddy was up to it for some Korean cuisine for a change. :)

Even the food on the display counter looks appealing to us...and their serving size looks huge!

The place is quite cosy to hang out with friends for meals.
You can listen and watch K-Pop videos showing on their TV screen while dining.
Great for Kpop fan.

Checking our their promo. If you come on Tuesday you get to buy 1 free 1 for ladies.
Too bad we came on Wednesday for lunch.

Pricing for their lunch sets are reasonable...which available on weekdays from 10am to 3pm.

On a hot sunny day I have an Aloe Vera Punch
I'm glad that I ordered this cause it was so refreshing...and tasty.

Ordered 'Spicy Toppokki' (Rice Cake).
I like the eggs and the sauce....but not a fan of toppokki since I find it too chewy for my liking cause I have to chew hard before swallowing. However, my friend happily finished this dish cause it's her favourite.

Seafood Soondubu Jigae Set. Free set from the voucher. My buddy enjoyed this set...although a bit spicy but the broth goes well with the rice. I did not try it and hence I can't comment whether it was good.

And yes, they serve a generous serving in a set. And I love the rice that comes with it. The picture looks brown but in reality they're purple brown rice. My friend seems to be fascinated with the rice since purple is her favourite colour. LOL!

I ordered a set of Honey Garlic Bulgogi Chicken with Rice. However, my order never arrive cause the waiter who took our order thought I have cancelled this dish. =.= Nevertheless, after having it resolved, it took less than 10 minutes to be served.

Anyway, what did I think of the set I ordered? Erm....to be honest, I find the chicken to be a bit soggy and it's not as tasty as I thought. The soup that came with the set was diluted and tasteless. I was eating more of the side dishes, the sweet onions and the eggs that comes with the chicken.

The overall total with 1 free meal set. My overall experience is somewhat disappointing due to the set that I've ordered. However, it doesn't put me off to come back again to try out other set.
