Taking First Coach From Kuala Lumpur To Singapore

Whenever I take a trip down to Singapore my first choice it will be by bus. Reason....its the cheapest alternative than flying of course. So when I need to take a trip down to the 'lion city', I take First Coach. I have used their service for several years and I must say that by far they are the best (I've tried other buses but First Coach is still the best in my opinion).

A trip down to Singapore from Kuala Lumpur cost RM55 and if returned its RM140. However with effective from 1st May 2017 there'll be a price increase for the fare.

I often take the early bus down but most time I take the 9.30am slot (7.30am is way to early for me). Depending where you're boarding the bus from, I usually board it in Bangsar since it's the nearest to my place.

It's a no frill coach so there's no wifi and no hostess to serve you meals/drinks on board. They do provide a bottle of water and a pack of biscuit though.

Bring your own head phone/ear phone on board the bus if you want to watch movie on board. On the side of your seat you can charge your phone or laptop while on board. Most time I bring my own portable charger cause I've experienced whereby there's no plug or the plug is spoilt (but lately I've no issue with this problem so far).

They only stop once for a short break at the rest area (not including immigration point in JB or Singapore). This is the only time you get down to visit the loo or grab some snacks or drinks halfway through your trip. They usually stop for 20 minutes.

Remember to fill in your disembarkation/embarkation card before arriving at Singapore checkpoint (you can get it from the driver).

A picture where passenger disembark or board the bus at Novena Square. Its so convenient to take an MRT to your next destination in Singapore.

The journey usually take between 5 to 6 hours but depending the crowds at the immigration check point. If its on a weekend or holiday season, do expect longer hours (it can be up to 8 hours or more). So my advice, take an early bus down to avoid the crowds and traffic congestion on the road (when it rains or after work). And if you can't stand the hours sitting then the best alternative is flying.

Brunch Time At "Wake Me Up Cafe" @ SS2 PJ Petaling Jaya

Its been a while since I update on my food blog and decided to update on my recent trip to 'Wake Me Up' cafe with bestie.

Bestie recommended this place since she's been here and found their breakfast to be good and affordable.

As always, order my all time favourite...hot latte.

While bestie have her glass of ice chocolate (it was a hot day).

In no time our brunch were served to us. Both of us have 'Wake Me Up Breakfast' (RM18.90), which consist of two sunny side up, pork sausage, bacon, mushroom, salad, grilled banana with toast, butter and jam.

Quite a big portion I must say. Defiantly fill us up. :)

After our meal I was tempted to order desserts that was on display.

I love anything that is related to Tiramisu but with a full stomach I guess I have to come back another day.

I personally enjoyed my time here. It was a cozy cafe and definitely my kind of cafe where I can do my work, take a break or just chill out with friend for a quiet meal. Defiently return with buddy for a get together :)

Cuteness Overload - Pompompurin Cafe In Singapore

I've been looking forward to check out PomPomPurin cafe since the cafe opened in Singapore. I'm a sucker for anything cute and if there's a cute cafe I'll defiantly take a trip down to check it out.

Went on a weekday and the cafe was pretty quiet when we dropped by before 7pm. I guess the crowd sort of die down after a while...in a way its good since I'm not a fan of lining and waiting for a table.

Spotted a huge PomPomPurin and friends figure in the middle of the cafe.

Took a while to decide what to order from the menu. Everything look so cute and adorable and I was quite tempted to order more.

Snapping pictures right away after placing our order.
Argh....everything is super 'kawaii'!

In no time our drinks were served. My friend have the Fruity Garden Mango Juice while I have the Cookies & Cream Caramel Latte.

Cute pompompurin biscuit staring right at you before it ended up in my tummy. 😁

Chicken Genovese Spaghetti (SGD$26.99). My friend ordered this cause of the free mug and I guess she's a sucker for its cuteness. I must admit I was quite tempted because of the cute mug but decided not to since I wasn't sure what I'm going to do with it cause it was pretty small to be a drinking mug...unless it's for expresso.

I guess it whole purpose is for the sauce. An example of the sauce in the mug. You'll be given a new mug when you pay at the cashier.

Coconut Milk Chicken Curry (SGD$17.99). It's a mild curry flavour with rich flavour of coconut. I have to agree that the coconut flavour was pretty strong for my liking.

Generally the food was a big disappointment but their drinks make up for it although pricing wise is on the high side.

Overall my friend & I still enjoyed ourself...partly because of the cute deco and we're a fan of sanrio character. :)

Making My Very Own Okonomiyaki Japanese Pancake

I must admit that I'm not a fan of cooking. But when there're times you're lazy to step out from the house, you're left with no alternative but to cook your own. Usually I'll make instant noodle or fry an egg with bread. But seeing that the the pack of Nissin Powder Mix I bought will be expiring soon, I make an attempt to make Okonomiyaki...not knowing if it will be a success (or edible).

I decided to include this pack of clam which I bought from Tokyo.
Wished I bought more cause it was pretty tasty.

Powder mix from Nissin Brand which I got it from Japan.
So far I've yet to find this in a local supermarket.

The pack contained 2 sachet of powder and 2 noodle pack.
Since I was cooking for my own so I only used one of each.

Although the pack was all in Japanese, but the picture itself pretty much gives you an idea how to cook it. The ingredients you'll need are cabbage, eggs and spring onion. I left out the cheese since I'm not really a fan of it.

After chopping everything and mixing the powder into a bowl, I wondered did I put too much of cabbage in it.

The portion was pretty big and I think I should have put a bit of the mixer to try it out. But having not much of experience I ended up pouring everything into the fryer. 😅

I ended up breaking it in the middle when I flip it over. But since I was cooking for my own I guess it didn't matter. And when it's finally finished, this is the end result. I like it burnt a bit...maybe because it's nice to eat when it's crispy.

Turn out it was easy cooking this Okonomiyaki ...although it took a while for the preparation such as chopping up the ingredients. I have to give myself a pat on my back for not burning down the whole kitchen. LOL. And I must say it turn out pretty tasty...although visually it looks kinda unpleasant.

Guess I will be on a hunt to look for similar pack such as this if I ever go to my local supermarket. If not, I guess I have to stock up more of these if I ever return back to Japan.
