Solo Travel In Tokyo Day 2 - Asakusa & Tokyo SkyTree

An overdue post of my solo trip to Tokyo (March 2015)

By day two I was pretty sleepy due to lack of sleep. The whole night I can hear my next door neighbour or guest walking along the hallway. Additional to that it was a new environment so it took a while for me to fall asleep. I managed to sleep for an hour before I checked out hotel by 10am.  

Bought a sandwich at the convenience store for breakfast. 

Didn't fancy the meat although the egg was pretty good. 

Stay Connected With Pocket Wifi (For Japan Trip)

Earlier this year while travelling solo to Japan, I rented a pocket wifi prior to the trip. Since I was travelling solo it saves the hassle looking for free wifi.

Back in 2014 I went on a family trip with my parent to Japan. While we were there, we have to look for free wifi connection, Starbucks or using wifi from hotel where we stayed. Now with this portable Pocket WiFi, my trip this year was an easy breeze for me. 

I rented the above portable Wifi device from Beee Mobile Pocket.

Booking was easy and they'll deliver the the device one or two days prior to your trip. 

In the bag it contains the device, charger and a small pouch. 

After your trip, place the above items into the plastic sleeves (as shown below) and sealed it before returning. The company will send someone over to collect the device a day later. 

I didn't encounter any problem while travelling in Japan. The battery life for this pocket Wifi lasted more than 24 hours without charging since I was the only sole user. In a way, I feel so secure while travelling solo cause if in the event of need, you can always look it up on your phone for help. In addition, its great to stay connected the moment you land in Japan!

Brunch At "Second Sunday" @ Damansara Jaya

I wished there's a second sunday in a week so there's more time for me and buddy to explore new cafe. Anyway, we went to Second Sunday for brunch and went a bit earlier than usual since lunch time can get pretty pack. 

Managed to secure a nice table for the two of us since we were early. A nice cozy cafe with minimal and clean interior furnishing. Love the deco on the wall, and I find the textural walls pretty nice. 

Celebrating 'Boxing Day' With Family

It's not often we celebrate boxing day together.

But when we do, you can expect loads of food!

And I mean loads of it!!!!

Christmas Get Together With The Gals - Nandos & Starbucks (2015)

It's that time of the year again when I get to meet up with my ex-school mates. This Christmas gathering the gals decided to have it simple and have it at Nandos @ Tropicana City Mall. In addition to that, this will be the first year we decided not to have any gift exchange. Loads of catching up with the gals and in no time our food arrived. I used to like Nandos but lately I find that the standard dropped.....a lot....and the other gals agreed too.

So much of catching up and its kinder bump that we can't meet up often.

Hattifnatt Cafe At Koenji (Tokyo)

I came to know Hattifnatt Cafe while surfing the net and decided to check out this cafe while in Tokyo. With the help of Google Map, I was able to find this this cafe which was located within walking distance from Koenji train station.

Sweet Treat at "Swich Cafe" @ Atria Shopping Mall

Lately I've been craving for something sweet.

Not sure it's because of the holiday season or my sweet tooth.

Just looking at all these cakes on display can tempt anyone for a slice of cake. ^^

Love the colourful bear on display.

A cozy corner to hangout with friends. 

Red Rose Latte. Overall the latte has a light flavour to it, which I like although some may not enjoy it for those who prefer stronger flavour. 

And yes, they're real red rose petal on our drinks. 

And there's a hint of rose flavours with it when we drank it. 

Taste pretty good and I love the smell of roses. 

We love the cups that was served with our drinks :)

A slice of Japanese Salted Caramel cake to share. 

Smooth, fluffy and a bit salty but it's pretty nice...although it was my first time trying it.

There're other cakes that we wish to try but we were too full after a heavy meal. 

Overall, Swich is a nice cafe for a cup of coffee (and cakes) with friends or family.

Beautiful & Haze-Less Weekend

Its a bliss to wake up in the morning to find a beautiful blue sky to welcome the day. 

Compared to 2 months ago, the view was the total opposite. I remembered telling a friend of mine that I felt like I was watching a ghostly movie silent hill.

When the haze finally left, I was able to catch a glimpse of the rainbow outside my window. It lasted for few minutes but am glad that I was able to take this picture before it was gone.  

Its sad to know that we will most probably be seeing this every year during the burning season from Indonesia. 

Thankfully the haze is gone now and we get to enjoy beautiful days such as this. 

Never tire of the haze-less and beautiful blue sky outside.

Brunch At Black & White Cafe @ Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

It's been a while since I have some 'me' time and decided to head out for brunch at Black & White cafe in Mont Kiara. I've been wanting to try out their english breakfast after browsing through their menu the other day. 

It was still early so the place was pretty quiet. A plus point for me since I dislike crowded places when I'm on my own. 

Have a cup of Caramel Macchiato (RM11.50) while waiting. 

In no time English Breakfast (RM13.50) was served. The portion is pretty big and defiantly value for money. On top of that everything served on the plate looks pretty healthy. Do drop by if you're nearby. ^^

Birthday Dinner At "Sushi Tei" @ Tropicana City Mall

Its been a while since I last update this blog. Finally took the time to update after dinner with the birthday gal a while ago. Her birthday is suppose to be tomorrow but since she won't be around, we decided to push the date a day earlier and dine at Sushi Tei. 

Ean & I were surprised to receive a Christmas card and a present from the birthday gal....although we should be the one getting one for her instead (really paiseh). *Thanks Ja ^^

So much to catch up and in no time the food was served to us. 

First dish to arrive is the Chuka Wakame (Seaweed). 

Don't let the picture fools you, the actual serving size is way much smaller.

Sashimi Salad with Sesame Dressing.

My personal favourite and a healthy choice for starters. 

Dai Dai Roll. Not a fan of the wasabi sauce but it was okay. 

The gals seemed to enjoy this though. 

Must have if we ever visits a Japanese restaurant....soft shell crab maki and handrolls. 

Chicken Karaage. Nice to eat when its hot.

I'm fine with anything that is fried ^^
